More than ninety percent of the natural gas used in the United States is produced in the United States (with some natural gas imported from Canada). This abundant, clean, domestically-produced natural resource is a more cost effective way to fuel your appliances. Generally, natural gas equipment is easier to maintain and repair, and lasts longer than similar electric appliances, thus providing lower maintenance costs.

With the exception of gas furnaces and clothes dryers, natural gas appliances (hot water heaters, gas logs, gas ranges) keep working even when the electricity is off.
